Great Lakes Loons team manager, Gil Velazquez
Gil Velazquez is a Los Angeles native who spent five big league seasons with Boston (2008-09), Los Angeles-AL (2011) and Miami (2012-13). In 2015 Velazquez made the transition to coaching with the Dodger organization following a 17-year professional career. The Great Lakes Loons was the next team for his career serving as the seventh manager in team history in 2016. For the first time in franchise history, the Loons clinched the 2016 Midwest League Championship.
