A house fire started around 2:47 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 421 N. Van Buren St. in Bay City. A large plume of black smoke from the fire scattered surrounded streets. More than a dozen firefighters were on the scene, dousing the two-story home with water. A majority of the fire appeared to take over the entire second story of the home, but there were also flames visible on the first floor. Fire officials said no one was injured in the incident.
Attendees gather for a Mountain Dew drinking contest Tuesday, Feb. 10, during Dew Downtown Flagstaff located in Heritage Square. The Dew Downtown event spanned over the course of two days. Despite the chilling snowfall, spectators of all ages ventured downtown to enjoy a festival featuring snowboarding and skiing this past weekend. A snow ramp constructed along San Francisco Street allowed for all to cruise along the snowy obstacle course from Dale Avenue to Birch Avenue.

A truck carrying beets tipped over at the intersection of Madison and Center avenues in downtown Bay City, dumping part of its load onto a vehicle in the Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library lot. The incident occurred after 1 p.m.
